
Hi Grace Family,
Many of you are praying and wondering about the best way to respond to the earthquake in Haiti. Your heart for the world inspires me!
As a church family here is what we are doing now:
1. The first team to Haiti has been formed. They will be departing on February 19th and return February 27th. Please continue to pray for the team leader and members as they prepare for their experience in Haiti- Pray for strength, endurance, patience, and that God's love would resonate from all they do & they would have an opportunity to share His message of hope.
2. The team has asked for donations that include :
MEDICINE
Infant vitamin drops like Poly vi sol
Children's chewable vitamins with iron
Infant pain relief drops like tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin (ibuprofren)
Children's chewable pain relievers like tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin (ibuprofren)
Anti fungal creams, such as Tinactin, Lotrimin, Desenex
Allergy medication in tablets, not liquid, like Claritin, Zyrtec, Benadryl,
Cough medicine in tablets or children's liquid, like Nyquil, Dayquil, Sudafed, Triaminic
Eye drops, such as Visine
Lip balm
EQUIPMENT
2-3 Frame backpacks borrowed, can be returned
Large duffle bags, military style or zipper
4 tents (3-4 man size) donated, will not be returned
Tarps
Rope
2 gal, 3 gal, 5 gal and XXL ziploc bags
Any contributions of cash donations would be greatly appreciated as well.
Please drop off your donations and/or contributions on Sunday February 14th at the table in the Atrium or at the office during the week. Donations will be accepted until Thursday, February 18th by 12noon.
3. If you are still interested in donating to a Christian humanitarian aid organization, Please consider World Relief. (www.worldrelief.org) These folks have leaders on the ground and they will give terrific oversight. World Relief excels in working with and through the local church.
